More about Carter Law Solicitors
As a former appointed member of the Law Society of South Australia’s ‘Children and the Law Committee’, Urmila has assisted in providing legal advice and recommendations to State Government Departments and bodies with respect to youth social justice issues and as to the care and protection systems in place for young children where matters of abuse and family violence are involved. She has also assisted in the publishing of educational papers concerning Family Law issues for various governing bodies in South Australia.
Urmila’s advice on property settlement matters has ranged from small asset pools to million dollar settlements, including advice as to spousal or child maintenance obligations. She is equipped to offer conveyancing services where needed and, in so doing, is able to support clients right through to the absolute finalisation of their property settlement matter.
Personal experience has equipped Urmila with the ability to truly understand the concerns and challenges that parties face at the time of separation. She is regarded for her ability to handle all Family Law disputes, with compassion and judiciousness. She is focused on working closely with her clients and empowering them to make their own decisions over the course of their matter.
Urmila’s emphasis is on conflict resolution by mediation, without recourse to litigation unless necessary. This is especially important in matters involving children where, if possible, preserving the ongoing parental relationship between parties is desirable. Urmila ensures all her matters are approached in a diligent and timely manner, with a focus on keeping costs to a minimum and providing value for legal fees paid.
